HR Talks Munich: Leadership in the digital era

A breakfast conversation hosted by FT | IE Business School Corporate Learning Alliance

The Financial Times | IE Business School Corporate Learning Alliance hosted the session at the Allianz Arena in Munich offering chance for HR executives to share their experience, knowledge and thoughts with peers and industry experts.

The roundtable was moderated by Lyndsey Jones, Executive Editor at Financial Times and Joseph Pistrui, PhD, Professor of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, IE University.

Professor Pistrui will opened the session explaining the theory behind Innovation Culture and Leadership Circles and will lead an engagement exercise for the participants to introduce ‘the nature of the challenge’.

Lyndsey Jones shared her experience with change management and the transition of the Financial Times to a digital media organisation. Lyndsey Jones gave examples of corporate transformation and digitalization of the deliverables. She also mentioned the FT online test that can be taken to check whether ‘a robot can take your job‘.

Lyndsey plays a key role in defining the newsroom and publishing processes that underpin the FT’s digital transformation. In her current role as section chief of the day production, she has reshaped the editing process to focus on digital output, while simplifying the print operation.

Joseph Pistrui

Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at IE Business School and member of the FT | IE Corporate Learning Alliance educator network. Joseph’s work integrates experience from the practice of management with a wide-ranging set of theories and focuses on the “entrepreneurial problem” of innovation-based growth and new business development.
